Written Scheme of Investigation

Archaeological planning conditions often require the compilation and approval of a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) prior to fieldwork commencing. They can also be part of a pre-application process.

The WSI is a document which sets out the proposed methods of the project to demonstrate that the required planning condition will be undertaken to
recognised professional standards.

Acer Archaeology will liaise with the relevant Local Authority, Heritage bodies (as required) and clients to ensure the most effective methodology is implemented for the discharge of planning conditions.
